Integral Meditation
A 5-Day Retreat with Diane Musho Hamilton
Friday 5 Wednesday 10 Sept 2008

This five day retreat gives you space and time to explore the depths of Big Mind and Big Heart through an Integrally-framed range of meditative, psychodynamic and body practices.

Diane Musho Hamilton Sensei is the dharma successor of American Zen Master Genpo Roshi, and is his first successor in the Big Mind lineage. Diane's program will lead you through Zen meditative practices, psychodynamic shadow work, and the Big Mind process. The retreat will also include bodywork and energetic practices to provide you with a rounded transformative experience that engages the full depths of your self through mind, body, spirit and shadow.

Big Mind is the name given, by Genpo Roshi, to a straightforward and effective method of self investigation designed to give you an experience of your unconditioned nature. This process is a new synthesis of methods from western psychology and the non-dual wisdom traditions which successfully navigate core aspects of your psyche to reveal the compassionate nature of your heart and to cultivate a better understanding of the limitless wisdom and presence of your mind.

Diane is a truly impressive teacher who uniquely holds status as a Zen sensei, Big Mind process facilitator, and as a key teacher with Ken Wilber's Integral Institute. She is also a professional mediator, group facilitator, and trainer in conflict resolution. With a demanding international teaching schedule, this retreat presents a rare opportunity to study and practice with Diane on her first teaching visit to Australasia.

Happiness and How it Happens
A 7-day silent retreat with Suryacitta

@ the Dharmahouse, Southern France
Website: www.thedharmahouse.com

25th June - 2nd July 2008

Cost (includes 3 vegetarian meals a day):

€ 250 indoors / €200 camping + Dana (concessionary rate: €180 camping)

We all want to be happy, so why then does happiness seem so elusive? It is because we are caught up with our agitated thinking.

We believe the image we have of our selves in our own minds. Trying to fulfil this image leaves us feeling discontented and dissatisfied with our self and our life.

There will be silence, meditation, short talks, Question & answer sessions and meditation interviews. This retreat will be led in both English and French.

Meditation for Today

Meditation for Today was established in 1993 by Philippa (then Pip) Ransome, when Venerable Ayya Khema (1923-1997) asked her to teach meditation and the Dhamma. Ayya Khema, one of the great mystics of the twentieth century, is remembered for the clarity of her teachings and especially her understanding of the meditative absorptions. Philippa is one of only 6 teachers in Australia authorised by Ayya to pass on the Buddha’s teachings and Meditation for Today is dedicated to this purpose.

Retreats range from 1 to 10 days in length to meet the needs of beginning meditators and those already practicing towards stream entry. Unless otherwise stated all retreats are offered at Nyora Forest Retreat situated in the beautiful Yarra Valley an hours drive from Melbourne.

The teaching is pure, simple, joyful and speaks to the heart.
May you be well and happy!

10-day Vipassana Retreat - Led by Ven. Pannyavaro

4th July (Friday 5:30 PM) to
13th July (Sunday 3:00 PM)

Ven. Pannyavaro (Pannya)
is an Australian who ordained as a Buddhist monk over 20 years ago. A meditation teacher in the Burmese Vipassana tradition and founder and webmaster of BuddhaNet.net.

Pannya is the resident teaching monk at Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery and Retreat Centre in Northern New South Wales. Pannyavaro also teaches regularly in SE Asia.

The Buddha gave clear, precise instructions for systematically training our hearts and minds. The practice traditions are anchored in this practical approach to mental and spiritual development.

The art of meditation and mental training is like any other art; one needs to patiently train and practice the skills of the art, otherwise the free flowing 'Art' never fruits.

Daily interviews and Dharma talks will assist and guide meditators as they progress along the paths of these practices. The purpose of this retreat is to gain understanding and insight into the way our minds and beings interact with and affect our internal and external worlds. It is designed to cultivate clear self awareness and develop a number of tools that can be applied usefully to daily life.
