Flood Relief

In the past three weeks, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia have been hit by floods, tsunami and volcanic eruption bringing tremendous sufferings to thousands of victims.

I went to the branch campus of the International Buddhist College in Korat on October 31 till November 6 to help with flood relief work in Korat. Our campus in Pak Thong Chai was flooded up to 7 feet of water.

Although we were affected by the flood itself, staff and students of the college went out to provide emergency relief to the victims of flood in Korat. We distributed 1,000,000 baht worth of food, water and money to about 900 families.

A few days later, Southern Thailand also witnessed the worst flood in the past decade. Again our staff and students at the main campus of International Buddhist College went to help the flood victims distributing cooked food and water.

The Than Hsiang Foundation in Malaysia and Thailand is now embarking
on raising an equivalent of 5,000,000 baht to do relief work in Thailand,
Indonesia and Malaysia.

Money will be raised through donation and sale of Gold Medallions of Avaloketesvara Bodhisattva minted by Singapore Mint.
