Mind is a bird) Fly on fair bird fly with the sun overhead and crystal water below your wings are strong and your heart is too fare thee well fair bird my heart fares on with you Have courage fair bird and take care let no rain or cloud stand in your way let no man or beast lead you astray fare on, bird of my heart fare thee well. Have faith fair bird in your flight the awakened ones they speak no lies be patient fair bird and 'fore long, you too will reach that land so pure utterly freed from sorrow's mighty jaws. --------------------------------------------------- My Consolation, Solace & Peace If voice from the past would tell me how i should have done or what i have not done i would look upon its ungraspable and unretrievable nature - as is a dream, then ah! i will have my consolation a solace from seeing the emptiness of the past that which have ceased. then remorse would no longer clutch at my heart. this is my peace. If my heart would jump with anticipation of what the future would bring, then i would look upon its ungraspable and uncertain nature - as is a dream, then ah! i will have my consolation a solace from seeing the emptiness of the future that which is unarisen. then expectation would not stir a flurry in my heart. this is peace. And if the present would be filled with agony or comfort then i would again look upon its ungraspable transient nature as is a dream, then ah! neither the fires of hate nor the thirsts of greed would find a place in my heart. i could be cool, treading on the Blessed Path. this is my solace and peace. live this way to consolation, solace and peace. ------------------------------------------- _Cycle_ There is never an everlasting laugh but when will you ever stop crying? samsara is cyclic when will you ever stop crying? * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Two poems by Phra Ajahn Yantra Amaro of Thailand. Mindfulness and wisdom are The virtues to realize the truth. If they are perfectly developed in one's mind, They will guide and free one's life And the whole world, from suffering. If both virtues are in complete And righteous harmony in the mind of any person, They will be the "Virtues of Enlightenment". HUMAN THOUGHTS Man is a creative being, Yet, man is tied and enfolded By his own thoughts. But man neeeds thoughts, imagination, Contemplation and obsrvation To enable his mind to be one-pointed. When thoughts cease, Truth will appear And truth is not thoughts. ------------------- Let us not be heedless Let not time and life pass away uselessly Try to always contemplate one's self. If we diligently train ourselves, We can become the real refuge To both ourselves and to others.----------------------------------------------------------- end of file
