A Series of One-day Meditation Workshops ~
with Ven. Pannyavaro

Ven. Pannyavaro (Pannya)
These Meditation Workshops are essentially instructional
with the participants getting feedback on their practice from
the teacher in a supportive environment.
During the day the basics of the practice of insight meditation
(vipassana bhavana) in three areas: sitting, walking and in
daily activities will be explained in detail.
Whether they are new to the practice or have had
previous experience, the workshop participants can benefit by
having the opportunity to work through with the teacher any
problems, difficulties or need for clarification in their meditation
practice.
Additionally, instructions on loving-kindness
meditation (metta bhavana) will be given to support the practice
of insight meditation.
Attention will be given on to how apply the knowledge
of meditation techniques and strategies to both the intensive
retreat practice situation and the ability to integrate the
meditation into everyday life.
The outcome of the workshop should be that it
gives the participants increased confidence and skill in their
ability to self-manage and develop their meditation practice,
particularly in applying the meditation skills to daily life.
No cost is involved although
a donation to cover cost is appreciated.
Workshops are mostly held on the last
Sunday of the Month from 9 am to 5 pm
Next Meditation Workshop: Last Sunday in March 2012

9-day Vipassana Meditation Retreat
with Rosemary & Steve Weissman
Friday 20th to 29th April - 2012
Steve & Rosemary believe that the path of meditation must be treated as a whole. A meditation practice which nurtures all aspects of our life can help liberate us from difficulties, helping us to find more inner peace not only in our formal practice but also in our everyday lives. Various Buddhist meditation techniques are blended in order to give the meditator many ways of developing beneficial qualities such as Compassion, Wisdom, Patience, Lovingkindness, Acceptance, Equanimity, Joy, etc. At the same time these help to lessen attachment to unbeneficial qualities such as anger, hatred, greed, worry, self-pity, envy, etc.
By learning a balanced practice, we are able to use whatever is appropriate to deal with the often complex and difficult experiences in life. As we learn to react in a wise way, a peace can be experienced within the purification and development of the mind.
Rosemary & Steve Weissman have been practicing meditation since 1972, and have received instruction from many of the leading Buddhist meditation teachers of Thailand, Burma, Sri Lanka, Australia, England and the United States. In 1987 they were requested to teach at Wat Kow Tahm in Thailand and founded the International Meditation Center retreat programs in 1988. Since then, thousands of people from all over the world have participated in retreats or workshops with them in Thailand, Europe, U.S.A., Australia and Singapore.
